Know the rebates before you finish the quote.

Punchlist identifies the utility, state, regional and manufacturer incentives that may apply to a project — and shows the source behind every answer, with the date it was last verified.

Punchlist does not administer, fund or approve any incentive program. It reads what the administrators publish and tells you what it found, including what it could not establish.

Quote only what is still paying: 9 of the 14 programmes I track have ended or filled up.

Several are still advertised as available on the administrator’s own live page. Every change is dated and sourced here, so the rebates you put in a quote are ones your customer can still get.

What a ZIP code cannot tell you

A ZIP is not a meter. In the territory Punchlist has mapped, 40 of 130 ZIP codes are served by more than one electric utility. Software that answers with a single utility name is guessing on those.

What Punchlist returns instead
resolve(97013) → electric: [Canby Utility, Portland General Electric]
                 gas: [NW Natural]
confidence: SPLIT — address verification required

What the subscription actually buys

Not a list of programmes. A record where every figure carries the document it came from and the date that document was last checked, and where the parts that are not known are published instead of left blank.

  • Two independent readings. Every programme is read twice, separately. Where the two readings disagree about an amount, an eligibility rule or whether the funding is still open, nothing is served until a person settles it. How it works
  • Dated provenance. Every figure names the document it came from, the organisation that published it, and the date Punchlist last checked that document. A figure with no source is not published. Sources
  • Declared gaps. What has not been verified is written down rather than rounded up to a confident answer, and a state that is not in the record deeply enough is not sold. Coverage
  • Scoped access. An account is approved for named states and only ever sees the territory it was approved for — the state on a request is intersected with the approved set on the server, never widened by a URL or a form field. Security
  • No control here charges you. Every one of them is an application a person reads before an account exists, and no page on this site links a contractor to a payment screen. Apply

Before you quote, confirm the figure with the utility in one call. Punchlist gives you the document, the page and the phone number so that call takes two minutes.

Punchlist is built to add states without changing the engine. It publishes what it has verified and nothing else — see coverage.
